A calm, professional space, held with care
Petronilla is a therapy and wellness practice built around one simple belief: with the right support, people can heal, grow and rediscover their strength.
About the therapist
Petronilla Wambui Kishare is a registered counsellor offering compassionate, professional therapy for women, young adults, and children and young people aged 6 to 19. The work is grounded in warmth, respect and genuine curiosity about each person’s story — never judgment, and never a fixed script for how you should feel.
Clients often arrive carrying something heavy: worry that will not settle, a loss that still aches, a season after birth that is nothing like they expected, or simply a sense of being stretched too thin. Whatever brings you here, you are welcome exactly as you are.
A personal note on why this work matters
This practice grew from a deep conviction that no one should have to navigate difficult seasons alone. Therapy, at its best, is a steady relationship — a place to be heard, to make sense of things, and to find your own way forward. That belief shapes every conversation, from the very first appointment onward.
Therapeutic philosophy
Therapy here is collaborative and unhurried. We work at a pace that feels safe, agree goals together, and revisit them as your needs change. The aim is not to hand you answers, but to help you understand your own patterns, strengthen what is already resilient in you, and move forward with more clarity and self-compassion. Progress is always individual, and outcomes are never guaranteed.
Professional registration
Petronilla is a registered Counsellor with the Counsellors and Psychologists (C&P) Board, registration number C&P/C/2707/2026, registered under section 24(2) and (3) of the Counsellors and Psychologists Act No. 14 of 2014. Practising within recognised professional standards means your care is delivered ethically, accountably and with appropriate oversight.
Training and experience
Petronilla is a trained counsellor and a trained science teacher in Mathematics and Biology, with over 20 years in primary and secondary schools, where she led the Guidance and Counselling department. Much of that experience is with the mental health of children and young people aged 6 to 19, and she has particular experience in post-partum depression (PPD).
She continues to invest in ongoing professional development and supervision, in order to practise safely and ethically.
